Trading card games

I must admit that even though i might seem like a normal guy, a guy with a family and a normal life. i have a secret. A deep dark secret. I am a huge nerd. although this news would not even faze my other half, most people could not tell by looking at me. That is unless the notice my Lego Star Wars Chewbacca key chain. Or my Super Mario Bothers 3 hat that i wear religiously. Let alone what i have stashed away at my house. For instance my collection of trading card game cards. I could use the excuse that I only have trading card games to play with my 10 year old step-son, but that would be a lie. I started my addiction with Pokemon cards. I was one of the lucky kids to have a subscription to Nintendo Power Magazine. One day i received an innocent vhs tape in the mail from Nintendo. It was a promotional video for Pokemon. It was then, after watching the video, that i became a Pokemaniac. I could not wait for the release of the video game, which got as soon as possible. My addiction spread rapidly and i sucked up anything Pokemon that i could get my hands on. this included the trading card game. While i had never experienced a trading card game before, i loved it. I collected and played for several years. Then i sold my collection one day at school luckily right before the fad dropped off. I was out of the loop for several years before i got me step-son into pokemon cards which he picked up on right away. This eventually led to us trying the Warcraft TCG since we all played and enjoyed World of Warcraft at the time. Now since we have stopped playing Warcraft i have been feeling the itch. The itch to collect, and trade, and match wits on the field of table combat. we have picked up the trading card game magic the gathering. Any time we would be in the store the magic decks would beckon to me like a faint whisper. Eventually the whisper began growing louder until i could ignore it no longer. I got a starter deck for my son and i. I consider it a polished version of the Warcraft game. While i do understand Magic came first i played magic after warcraft. I am loving this new and relatively easy to pick up card game. Except for the fact that my other halves' planer, deck we got her, stomps me 3 out of 4 times. Oh well, go figure. -Kc
